The leather jacket of the M-422 series was renamed and carried on after World War II. That model is the G-1 FLIGHT JACKET. From MIL-J-7823E established by AS (US Naval Air Systems Command) on January 15, 1971, acrylic boa made of chemical fibers was used.This product is that model.Regarding the natural mouton boa, many jackets from half a century ago have lost their fur, and well-preserved ones are rare. The acrylic boa is in good condition, and it's very warm when the collar is raised.The wind flap is punched with the letters USN to indicate that it is US Navy property, preventing wind from entering.
