| Product Features | Spectacular ~ Antique Austrian ~ 9ct gold top and 800 silver ~ Kropfkette (goitre chain) choker necklace which is seen in Austrian and South German traditional jewelry ~ a choker of multiple rows of chain with an imposing clasp at the front ~ According to what info I gathered from VA Museum site this type of necklace where originally worn to hide the ugly swelling caused by goitre, a disease of iodine deficiency endemic in the high Alps. Many women in Austria and Bavaria still wear these distinctive necklaces on special occasions.Marked 800.Measures :Necklace is 14 1/2 inches in min wearable length x 1 1/2 inches max width (in center ).Weighs 58 grams on my weighing scale .Condition :Considering its age I will say necklace is in good antique condition ~ Heavy age patina , comes with age and use ~ Very less dings /dents seen on the backside of clasp ~ No missing or replaced stone (can see some surface wear ) ~ Clasps are in good working order .Please Note ~ As Antique /vintage items are previously loved /used please do expect some minor wear like surface wear /dents /dings and metal discoloration/age patina .
