It has spherical shape that keep the heat & steep tea leaves to perfection. You will love how this generously sized mug fits in your hands. Great gift for Yerba mate lovers. The capacity is 450ml (15.8fl oz). It is approx 10.5 cm (4in) high & the opening is 4.5 cm (1.7in) wide. Hand wash recommended, do not use in microwave. It is native to subtropical South America in northeastern Argentina, Bolivia, southern Brazil, Uruguay & Paraguay. It is prepared by steeping dry leaves (and twigs) of the mate plant in hot water, rather than in boiling water. As mate leafs are finely grated, it is drank with a straw called bombilla. The flavor of brewed mate is strongly vegetal, herbal, & grassy, reminiscent of some varieties of green tea.
