| Product Features | Absolutely beautiful vintage 1950s Silver Crest Milk Glass Bowl with a crimped edge manufactured by the Fenton Art Glass Company and hand painted with the Charleton design of roses by Abels, Wasserberg & Company.Abels, Wasserberg purchased "blanks" from Fenton, Duncan and Miller, Westmoreland, Cambridge, Fostoria, Aladdin, and other well-known glass manufacturers. This Fenton Silver Crest blank was purchased by Abels, Wasserberg & Company of New York, which was then hand painted by one of their artisans with a Charleton design. The Charleton designs consisted of flowers, fruit, or landscapes.This bowl features hand painted pink and purple roses with green leaves and gold accents on the interior and a gold band around the exterior footed bottom. The decorations are eye-catching, highlighting the craftsman’s ability to depict flowers with such lifelike intensity.Although Abels, Wasserberg sold other lines as well, the many and varied designs under the Charleton name, were their most successful products. These designs were registered under the Charleton trademark. Charleton decorative pieces were abundant in the 1940s and 1950s.Measures approx. 8 ½” W x 3 ½” H.There is some slight wear on the gold accents on the interior of the bowl as well as on the gold band around the exterior footed bottom. This piece is in overall otherwise excellent condition for its age. Please review pictures.This beautiful bowl would add a touch of elegance to any setting! | ||
